Scrip Program
Do You Eat? Read? Do-it-yourself? How the Scrip Program Works The scrip program is the most pain-free fundraiser ever. You pay the synagogue money you would already spend on groceries, books, or home maintenance items. In exchange, you get a gift card for the amount you purchase. B'nai Shalom earns a percentage of the proceeds of our sales. As the scrip program has grown, we have started working with suppliers who allow us to keep different percentages of what we sell. We currently have scrip in the following denominations: Stop by the office or the fund raising table in the lobby and purchase some scrip. We currently accept payment via cash, check, and debit card. Due to credit card surcharges of 2%, we have not accepted credit cards in the past, although we have had several people who have voluntarily asked us to add the 2% onto the amount we charge their card (i.e. you pay $102 for a $100 card so that Congregation B'nai Shalom earns the full 5%). If you have any questions about the scrip program, would like to volunteer to staff the table, or know of additional vendors that work with non-profits to set up similar programs, please contact Scrip Volunteers Needed
Then you really DO want to sell (and buy!!!) scrip. We need you for five minutes of training and approximately two hours every 2-3 weeks (we sell scrip during both sessions of Hebrew School on Sundays and would like to expand the program to sell during the Tuesday and Thursday afternoon sessions). Do your part to help ease the congregation's budget concerns. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact . Program Improvements Here are some of the things we've done to make the program more convenient: Established automatic monthly debits: We automatically debit your checking account and will have your cards waiting for you on Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday for you to pick up. Now you don't have to remember your wallet or checkbook! Established local pickup points in Westborough, Northborough, Shrewsbury, Southborough, Hopkinton, and Holliston: Now you can pick it up at a neighbor's house if you can't get to the synagogue during business hours. You can prepay using the debit program or pay by check for these options.
Thanks for supporting the largest fundraiser at Congregation B'nai Shalom! |
