At the meeting Rabbi Eiduson will speak about a change in our focus from what room parents traditionally do (shop, set up programs, fund raise, organize trips), to promoting adult connections within the grades. Specifically, we are hoping that you will agree to plan an informal “get together” during the coming year. These events might happen right after school for a picnic, bowling, sports night, or a Saturday night wine and cheese reception at someone’s home.
Rabbi Eiduson will also speak about using social media to help parents connect to one another. The idea is to develop Temple as a place that holds a central role in the lives of adults, not just our kids. It is about “belonging.” Belonging is about how you feel, about passion and commitment. And belonging is about a relationship with people as much or more than it is about a relationship with a building.
Room parents are invited to join in conversation on Sunday, November 1st at 8:30 am. We will hold the meeting to 30 minutes and you will walk away feeling as if you can really make a difference in the life of our congregation!
