Visit Israel

Traveling to Israel is a life changing experience and is something that Congregation B’nai Shalom strongly supports. We suggest two outstanding opportunities for high school students, the NFTY in Israel summer program and the NFTY-EIE semester in Israel. For families and adults, we offer a congregational trip to Israel every few years.

NFTY in IsraelMany of our high school students, especially those who have been Confirmed and are entering 11th grade, choose to participate in an Israel youth program. As a Reform Congregation, we highly recommend the NFTY in Israel program. Please visit the NFTY website for more information about this wonderful experience. Scholarships are available through the Steve Meltzer Youth Summer Camp Scholarship Fund.

URJ Heller High: Isaac and Helaine Heller EIE High School in Israel

For the Reform teen looking for the ultURJ_HellerHigh-final2imate in life experience, the URJ Heller High: Isaac and Helaine Heller EIE High School in Israel (EIE) is the time of a lifetime. For over 40 years, the Reform Movement has been sending youth to Israel, with this four-month or six and a half week accredited high school nestled in the Judean Mountains serving as the premiere program. Students live together, learn together and grow together as a community as they explore four thousand years of Jewish memory, learn Hebrew, and come to know Israel as their second home. Go on EIE and connect with your history, your land and your people! Visit the website for more information.

Congregational Trip to Israel

Travel to Israel with Congregation B’nai Shalom – February 15-25, 2018

Two years ago we had a wonderful community trip to Israel with Puzzle Israel. Focusing on experiencing many facets of Israel, meeting local people with stories to tell, and eating incredibly well (one of the Puzzle crew is a professional chef!), it offered a genuine way to learn about Israel, with a healthy dose of fun and exploration too. Now we are planning on doing it again! After a successful partnership with B’nai Torah in Sudbury for our Cuba trip, we will be joining forces again. The trip is scheduled to take place during February school vacation of 2018, February 15-25. For further information, including full itinerary and registration forms, click here.

Here is a brief slide show of photos from our last congregational trip, in April 2015.
