Israel Trip 2023 - Celebrating Israel's 75th Birthday!
We are delighted to be returning to Israel, May 1-10 2023, partnering with Puzzle Israel once again. As in our past Israel trips, this tour is co-sponsored by Congregation B'nai Shalom and Congregation B'nai Torah of Sudbury, with Rabbi Rachel Gurevitz and Rabbi Lisa Eiduson.
You can find the full itinerary (which is subject to modification) here.
To go directly to the reservation form, click here.
Our 2023 trip encompasses many new experiences and takes us as far south as the Ramon Crater in the Negev Desert and as far north as the Golan Heights. It is designed for both first time travelers and those who have traveled to Israel before.
Highlights include:
- Time in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem
- Star gazing in the Negev Desert
- Visit to an Ethiopian Jewish community and educational center
- Local wineries and the Milk and Honey whisky distillery
- Amazing archeological sites that teach us about the ancient history of the land
- A cooking experience (and eating the fruits of our labors!) in the Galilee
Travelers will make their own flight arrangements. The tour begins and ends on dates that are compatible with a non-stop El Al flight out of Boston. However, there are many flight options, and we will provide simple instructions for all to meet up at our Tel Aviv hotel.
Travelers are required to take out travel insurance, and we advise this is done at the time that they place their deposit. Please check your policies carefully if you wish to ensure you are covered for Covid-related cancelations or delay/quarantine while traveling. Puzzle Israel offers this link to travel insurance, but all are welcome to find the plan that best meets their needs.
Aside from flights and insurance, other additional expenses will include some meals (see full itinerary) and tips. Tips for our guides and drivers will be collected before the start of the trip (approx.$120 per person)
Travelers will be booking their own flights independently, providing maximum flexibility to choose routes, dates (if you wish to arrive early or extend after), use points or miles etc. However, we have created an itinerary that is compatible with the only direct flights from Boston to Tel Aviv:
LY16 departs BOS on April 30 at 8:30pm and arrives in TLV at 1:50pm on May 1.
LY15 departs TLV at 1.05am on May 11 (check in would be approx. 9.30pm on May 10) and arrives in BOS at 5:45am on May 11.
Deposits must be received by January 16th via the form below. Payment can be sent into the temple by check. A processing fee will be added to payments made by credit card. Please upload or send in a copy of the photo page of your passport with your deposit, and ensure that you have at least 6 months before expiration as of the date of our trip.
Final payment is due February 24th. For cancelation policies, please see the Puzzle Israel 'About Us' page.
