The memoir tells the author’s story of her youth in a Jewish immigrant family mired in secrets, haunted by their dread of shame and stigma, determined to hide their every imperfection, and in denial or despair when they couldn’t. We’re honored to have Rabbi Suri Krieger to lead our discussion. Letty Pogrebin was a founding editor of Ms. Magazine, author of 12 books, lecturer and social justice activist.
