Early Childhood Education

The goal of our early childhood programs is to increase family connections to the congregation and to regular practice, incorporating Jewish tenets and ritual within the home and family. Many of our Early Childhood programs and all community events are open to all. Connect with other Congregation B'nai Shalom families with young children for discussion and play dates.

Tot Shabbat

Join us at Tot Shabbat and Teeny Tiny Tod Shabbat for a fun service led by our clergy and activities with our Early Childhood Coordinator.

Tot Shabbat is designed especially for children ages 0 - 6 and their parents. The experience includes singing, dancing, storytelling, marching with the Torah, and a special kiddush snack. Tot Shabbat is a perfect introduction to Shabbat at Temple for parents and children and an excellent way for young families to meet and make new friends.

                  Garinim Sunday Preschool Program!

Our Garinim (Seeds) program meets on Sunday mornings from 8:30 to 11:30 AM and is available to members and non-members of Congregation B'nai Shalom. The cost is $400 for the year. Children will be with our early childhood teacher, Celia Nealon, and several experienced teen assistants.

In our preschool classroom, your child’s curiosity and passions will be nurtured with Jewish learning experiences and celebrations, all taking place in synagogue life. We support the “whole child,” including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. We offer indoor and outdoor structured and unstructured play, Hebrew language learning, introductory Jewish prayer and holiday observance skills, early childhood Jewish music specialists, and much more!

If you want to discuss our program via phone, please contact Rabbi Eiduson at 508-366-7191 Ext. 204. If you are interested in our program, go to https://www.cbnaishalom.org/form/garinim-application.html, fill out the application, and our Executive Director, Steve Winer, will contact you.

PJ Library

PJ Library is a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, made possible through partnerships with philanthropists and local Jewish organizations. Today, families in hundreds of communities across the United States and Canada can explore the timeless core values of Judaism through books and music. Through a partnership between Congregation B’nai Shalom and PJ Library, we mail high-quality Jewish children’s literature and music to our families monthly – free of charge.

All Congregation B’nai Shalom member families with children from six months through eight years of age are welcome to enroll or contact Mindy Hall at mhall@jfcm.org, 508-756-1543
