We may not be getting on a plane any time soon, but Congregation B'nai Shalom is taking you on a virtual tour of the island of Majorca, off the coast of Spain. Tour guide Dani Rotstein will be taking us down the actual streets of Majorca live in real time! You'll learn the amazing history of the Jews of Majorca. During the Inquisition, the Crypto-Jews or Chuetas publicly professed Catholicism while privately adhering to Judaism. Synagogues were secretly built in private homes. Signs of this “secret” community can still be found today with many of the current jewelry shops having been kept within their families for generations beforehand. Rabbi Gurevitz has already previewed this tour: "This is an amazing story told and led expertly by Dani. He is dynamic and energetic. 'Walking' down the streets with him is an incredible way to experience a 'virtual tour' and it really works!"
